2009 Upon Us

Well, Christmas is over. The New Year is just a few days away. I actually have a New Year's resolution this year. I usually don't make them because I always disappoint myself! But this year's is very obtainable. When I get home, I am going to clean out EVERY SINGLE cabinet in my kitchen and get rid of A LOT of crap! I have new dishes, so I can get rid of the old. I'll also get rid of mugs, cups, bowls, glasses.....anything not needed! Then I'm going to clean out the food cabinets! So...that's my resolution, what's yours?

Dad has agreed to count calories the last few days I'm here. Actually, it's 13 days, that gives me almost 2 weeks, I think we can get 10 lbs off him by then! Then, hopefully Aunt Sue will take over from there.....AHEM, isn't that right? :)

We spent Christmas Eve at my brother's house eating good food, great desserts, and watched the kids sing karaoke. Here's a few pics from the night before Christmas, and all through John's house....

So, on to what Santa brought. Santa brought Jake a 2 1/2 ft tall Batman figure, a Star Wars Millenium Falcon (complete with lights, sounds, etc.), and a glow in the dark Space themed train set. We all had a great Christmas. Jake got more toys than I can list in one blog! Tom got a Garmin GPS and I got a Wii, Wii Fit, and then we went and got Mario Kart for Jake. Dad got a new light for his backyard grilling area. John got a really cool indoor shuffleboard (like the one at the supper club) for his game room.

Then Friday, we went to my Mom's family's get together. There we ate (AGAIN), let the kids play, and picked lemons from my Uncle Steve's lemon trees. And tonight, I made homemade lemonade, for my first time. It was yummy! But that sure was a lot of work for the amount of lemonade I got! LoL!

So anyways, Tom's driving one of dad's cars back to Russellville. He left Phoenix about 2 hours ago. He figures he'll be home around noon tomorrow. I hope everything goes ok and he makes it home safe!

But for now, Happy New Year everyone and I hope you all had a great Christmas!

Going Going Going....

Well, it's apparnant it's Christmas time! Rush rush rush! I've been going somewhere or doing something everyday since I got here. But that's ok, I'm SOOOOO excited to see Jake's face tommorrow!

Jake's been having a ball with his cousins. Everyday he says, "go see Raegan and Kinley mom?" Last night, Jake got up from his stool and gave it to Raegan to sit on because she didn't have anything. I wonder how long it will be before he understands....."She's not your girlfriend Jake, she's your cousin, you don't have to try to impress her!"

I spent most of last night and the wee hours of the morning working on a scrapbook for dad's Christmas present. He doesn't read this, so I'm gonna post some pictures of it....it was A LOT of work! I didn't know how difficut that stuff is, or how expensive! I sure could have bought a $75 dollar present....that'd been a lot easier! Those little pages of stickers are $3-5.00 per page! And then, there's only like 6-8 sickers on a page. Anyways.......

So, there's a preview. If you're ever over be sure to look at it.....I want everyone to see it!

Here's a couple more pics of Jake, he loves his grandpa. He NEVER sleeps on me anymore! :(

So, that's all for now. Be sure to check back back in a few days and I'll have tomorrow's pics posted. Merry Christmas! I'm going to go wait on Santa!

We're Here

Well, Jake and I made it in to Dad's last night. The flight wasn't TOO bad, although the day itself started off pretty stressful.

We left our house headed for Little Rock at 8:45 AM yesterday. We didn't get to the airport until 11:40!! We sat in traffic between Conway and Little Rock FOREVER! Well, my flight was scheduled to leave at 11:55. It was delayed, thank goodness right? Sort of. My connection in Houston was scheduled to leave at 2:35, and the delayed flight wasn't re-scheduled in to Houston until 2:34. Well crap. I was thinking it was going to be Spring Break all over again! (they were both on Continental though, go figure) So the ticket lady in LR printed me some "Back Up" tickets, in case I did miss my connection in Houston. At this point, there was a GLIMMER (and that's ALL it turned out to be) of hope that my connection in Houston would be delayed as well. Most of the flights there were showing "Possible Delays due to low ceilings and low visibility". But I wouldn't know anything for sure until I got to Houston. The first set of back up tickets were stand by, at 4:00, because the flight out was currently full. The next set of tickets I was confirmed on.........leaving Houston at NINE O'CLOCK at night! AHHHHHH! Please no....was all I was saying all day! That would be 6 hours at Houston airport with Jake.

So my flight out of LR left at 1:10PM. I got to Houston at 2:55, fifteen minutes after my connection was scheduled to depart. But we ran to the ticket counter in hopes of a delay! No such luck. BUT, she was able to confirm me on the 4:00 flight that I was on stand by for. So we caught that flight and got into Phoenix at 6:00. It could have been worse, a lot worse. But It also could have been better! What the hell is it with me and my luck with flying?!

Anyways, here's a few pics I took on my phone as we were landing in Phoenix.

I think it's crazy how straight all the interstates are!

And Little Guy did great too, I don't think there was one single fit the WHOLE day.

Anyways, we have a lot to do in the next couple of days. There are TONS of presents to decorate, and a HUGE tree to hang ornaments on. When I say huge....it's 6 1/2 ft WIDE at the bottom, and 12 ft tall. Dad already has his tree decorated in the family room, the big one is for the formal room. Amy and the girls did the smaller one, so Jake and I (and Tom if he gets here before we do it!) get to tackle the big one. Tom will be here Saturday, we can't wait. He hasn't got to stay in this house yet, Dad was still in the apartment when he was here last Christmas. Anyhow, here's some pics of the trees.
Here's the "informal" one. Ha.

And the one left to decorate....

Procrastination

I don't want to do this paper. I don't even really know where to start! I can't get motivated. And it's due by Thursday. **Sigh** I'm so glad the semester's almost over. Only two more to go. I have a final Wednesday, turn in a paper on Thursday, and a test Friday, then I'm done. After that, time to get ready for our trip to Phoenix! We (We being Jake and I) leave a week from Wednesday, the 17th. Tom flies out the 20th. I can't wait. It's warm there. And I get to see my Daddy.

There's not really a point to this blog. Anyone has any input on "Community" (what my paper is about) feel free to throw your 2 cents in, cause right now I'm broke! LoL.

I don't even have any pictures on this computer to upload. I'll find something on the internet and add it though, pictures always make it better!

Have a great night! Can't say I will until Thursday, because pass or fail, at least I won't have this paper LOOMING over me!

What do you get when you cross Darth Vader and Hello Kitty????

This is pretty, wish my fireplace looked like this.

What the? Seriously? I think if a tornado is coming, I don't need a sign to tell me! I want sirens!

Ok, that's enough. Guess I'm in one of those weird moods. Hope you've enjoyed! :)

Ugh....

So I'm trying to remember who told me that Toshiba was the best laptop to buy. Because I would like to take my "awesome Toshiba" and shove it up their........ok, nevermind. But that's what we've been dealing with all week. I took it to Little Rock Monday to get worked on, because it's still under waranty and that's the only place anywhere near hear that will honor the waranty. The DVD/CD ROM drive was shot, so they ordered a new one and replaced it. I picked it up on Thursday. And since the system issue wasn't fixed Tom re-installed Vista, which means we had to take everything that I wanted to keep off and transferred to the desktop, and all of my school stuff I transferred to my 4G SD card. Well, my SD card was still in the computer when I took it to LR (I forgot to take it out) and when I got my comp back it was gone. Of course, Complete Computing doesn't have it. He said, "Well, I don't see it laying around any where". **Sigh** So after hours of crappy customer service on the phone in the Phillipines with Toshiba, Tom still doesn't have it sorted out. He got ahold of the floor manager because none of the technicians would help him, then they would "transfer him" and hang up. So he'd call back, be on the phone for an hour, same thing. Any how, the manager said a level 2 techinician is supposed to call him back at 6. We'll see. I am proud of him for kind of standing up to the rude technicians! I must be teaching him well! But I'm still so irritated, and it's not even me on the phone! I'm sure I'll have to shut down and re-start at least twice while trying to finish this blog!

Anyways, on to better things. The other day, Tom had packed some gummie worms in Jake's lunch. Well when I picked him up, they were still in his lunch box, guess he didn't feel like gummie worms for lunch! I had some errands to do and he wanted them so I gave them to him. I asked him if they were good and of course he said "yeah". Then, about 2 minutes later, out of nowhere, Jake said, "I need tell Daddy thank you mom". It was the cutest thing! Usually, we have to tell Jake to say thank you, so this was awesome! I called Tom immediately and told him. Of course, when we got home he wouldn't say it. But it was cute while it lasted!

As several of you might already know, we have added to our Sugar Glider collection. Dad brought his 3 females to come live with me. He's just too busy for them. And since I already had to males.......well ya know. So, if anyone is going to want babies, I'm sure we'll have a few in the new year!

We went to the Christmas parade Thursday night. I swear that gets crazier and crazier every year. You have to get there so early just to get a spot to see that by the time the parade starts, you're freezing and ready to go home! At least that was the case with Jake and Macy. But what we did see of it was fun.

So here's a few pics regarding what I've talked about. I know everyone would rather see pictures that read all this, I know I would! But at least if I write it, I can remember it.

Gotta love the hat, says it all!

Ah, Crazy Day

Black Friday. Yes, we joined all the crazy people shopping today! BUT.....Jake's Christmas is almost all the way done! Actually, we got everything we set out to get.

Yesterday, we joined Amy's parents for Thanksgiving dinner, it was WONDERFUL! The BEST Chicken and Dumplings EVER!! We also got some great pictures, which is the whole point of this blog. These are Great! I guess I'm sort of giving away the Christmas card themes, but oh well.....ENJOY!

Ok, I've realized all the good pictures are on my computer which Tom is working on now, so check back tomorrow! I'm too tired to mess with it tonight!
